Which of these jdramas to pick...

Apr 01, 2008 13:02

For me, jdramas are the most 'polar' dramas of the bunch. Most of dramas that ended up not working out for me have been jdramas (probably in part because they are so much shorter than tw and kdramas, so I am less picky which ones to try). And I have realized that barring something extraordinary, any jdrama made before 1999 or so won't work for me ( ( Read more... )

doramas, youtube, byakuyakou, kou kou kyoushi, long love letter

I have seen none, though I'm told Long Love Letter isn't really depressing. I can, however, now attest to the excellence of Hotaru no Hikari.

Jdramas, I've been avoiding them lately. They feel so, so ... drab or something. I don't know. Excluding Matsujun dramas, I'm not as keen when it comes to jdramas - maybe because the last few I've tried have bored or depressed me.

Long Love Letter is the only one I've seen/heard of in your list. I got to the second episode and then stopped thinking that I'd start it up again. It is a really interesting concept but, although it looks good, it's kind of non-uplifting and I need to make myself watch those types of dramas. I also accidentally read something about the male lead (who is just too cute) and got depressed. heh.

The last jdrama I watched and actually liked was "Proposal Daisakusen" (also with Yamapi).

Re: drab. Perfect word. So true. Not sure why that is, but they do feel that way to me too.

Long Love Letter is very, very good.

I love Yamada Takayuki and Ayase Haruka, but I can't bring myself to what that one. It's just... too dark for my tastes.

It does seem very dark. But I am in the mood for an angstorama.

i watch the one with yamada and ayase. I like it alot. But then i love dark drama. It was very good and it make you want to watch more and more. but the character that they are playing are hateful. I can't stand them but yet the ending kind of sad.

Ooh, Long Love Letter sounds really good... haven't seen it, but I'd be interested to hear just how dark it gets. I actually started Kou Kou Kyoushi 2003, but I'm still on episode 4. I can only seem to handle it in small doses, but it's really awesome so far: A definite twist on the student-teacher relationship. Heh, every now and then I have to stop and laugh at just how incredibly cruel his actions are... actually, I think I'm still in shock.
