I am tempted to check out Dal Ja's Spring but I have heard it's like Kim Sam Soon, and I really disliked that drama. So, what do you think

While I haven't seen either My Name is Kim Sam Soon or Dal Ja's Spring, from what I've heard, the similarity seems to primarily be that it's more centric around a strong and independent female character, as opposed to one wholly defined as the typical kdrama "poor girl saved by rich guy," as opposed to character/plot similarities(mind you, I plan to watch both and have become spoiler-paranoid the last few months, so I haven't read carefully.) The little bits I have paid attention to made me think a bit of Lovers, as far as the heroine goes.
hhmm, dal ja's spring and mnikss is similar in that sense that it's the older woman, younger man deal with a sort of love-contract set-up, but not that similar. in sam-sson, it's the male to set up the "love contract" for his benefit. for dal ja's spring, it's the total opposite. dal ja's spring actually reminds me somewhat of kimi wa petto, minus lee min ki being a human pet. it's got that same successful career woman meets the younger man deal, but a little more sweet and endearing.
Dal Ja is similar I guess because of the older female lead, but I think they are totally different overall. I really liked Dal Ja's Spring.. wayyy more than Kim Sam Soon. I watched it after my sister did and was raving about it for like.. 3 months.
Dal Ja's Spring is like Kim Samsoon in that it's about a 30-ish something woman not married yet. BUT... sans the whining, and also the weight issue. There is character development, and the relationships of the supporting with the leads are great. I really, really rec it to you. It may not become your fave dorama, but I think you'll like DJS much more than Kim Samsoon.
After you've watched it and decide that it's not for you, well, then I guess you can hit me with tomatoes... :D

oyceter, who often approaches dramas the way I do, has posted on the first 4 eps(though, I only read before the cut) http://oyceter.livejournal.com/700409.html

I didn't like MLKSS either, and the only similarities I can think of is the younger man/older woman thing.
