Yes. We.

Mr. Mousie watched this with me and loved it. I didn't have to push him or anything. And he wants to continue it, and we had a discussion about it afterward ( Read more... )

Yay! I love Karei-naru Ichizoku. Some think the politics is over the top but I loved it :) It's a very adult drama and I loved Kimura for being an adult in this drama instead of his usual teen idol image.

I loved the politics, the steel production, everything.

And yes, Kimura is not at all idol-like (whatever that is) here.

It's just a very good, very literate and complicated story. I mean, my husband is enjoying it and he never ever wanted to watch a drama in his life and the few bits he saw he would always roll his eyes at.

This is something I'd rec to those who normally have no interest in drama whatsoever.

Haha, teen idol image to me is playing a character like Halu in Pride. I don't think the character is realistic, and in fact it's very much over the top considering most Japanese men seem to be unlike Halu at all :D Most male characters in j-dramas are quite unrealistic to me (ie. the boys in Hanadan? Oh please, haha), but they sure make great dorama heroes! :)

While I am not sure if Halu is a teen-idol type (too prickly) Hanadan definitely is :O But I love them, pointy shoes and all :)

Now you and hubby remind me of Margaret and Thornton.

Must be all the talk about steel.

I'm glad you and Mr. Mousie are enjoying Karei. It is such a great drama and it was a pleasure to watch Kimura ACT. Teppei is such a great character!

It is either love or total ignorance with this drama. A lot of ppl didn't even watch it because it is not a teen idol drama - they really missed a grand tale :(

It is so wonderful, but also very heart-breaking in a 'real' way.

I can see why people wouldn't want to watch it on first glance. If it wasn't for KT I would have never checked it out because banking? Steel? Not my thing.
