there's also kimi wa petto and kindaichi case files. i think he also guested in another drama based on a manga.

so, yeah, seems to be specializing. though i think some of it is just that he can pull off manga crack really well, and has a pretty expressive face, which is good for manga roles.

all manga role, not really. tokyo tower is not a manga role, it from a novel, and dang that movie is wow. then there his newest movie hidden fortress. that from kurusowa remake. but he really had lot of charisma that you can't take your eye off him.

What is Hidden Fortress about?

hidden fortress is about a princess, a bodyguard and a peasant. Jun is a peasant. He kind semi evil in here. very silent, do anything to achieve what he want. He will have a relationship with a princess. so there would be a struggle of his desire and his want to be rich. nagasa nasami and abe hiroshi is in here.

This sounds very interesting, and a different kind of role. Yay! And I love the rest of the cast, too!

Can't wait to find out what you think! I used to think he's just about the ugliest actor before I ever saw him in anything but now i find him pretty in his own way. It's just hard to resist him. :P I love his hair in this too. I wonder if he's going to have a drama soon. He will probably still be busy with films. :/ Now i'm just rambling because I don't want to study. :P Enjoy the film! :D

LOL! Yes! Funny thing is it happened to my mom too when she saw Hanadan. He just grows on you and then knocks you off your feet. :P

Yup, I remember being horrified at him being Domyouji and I even put the drama aside after two minutes in, and then months later I went back to it and...SQUEE. Somehow somewhere I ended up falling hard and going 'I see what all the fuss is about, eee!'

i have to say i think your right... most of Jun's acting work has been based on mangas.... hmmm interesting...

and i have to say yes there is a little eek factor but i liked boku wa imouto ni koi wo suru.... if you watch and be like okay it is a movie about a twin brother falling in love with his sister then there is that eek, but the way it is filmed and the torture and angst of jun well it makes it seem like a just another doomed story..
