Everything but the kitchen sink...

This morning continues pretty good: the sky is shinily blue, I am wearing my favorite sweater/skirt combo (corded, form-fitting turtleneck of black-gray-pale pink and down to the ground a-line skirt, dark brown with a few thick, roughly patterned black/gray/pale pink stripes). Plus my favorite black boots, and I got complimented on my looks this ( Read more... )

1. I saw Boku wa imouto ni koi wo suru awhile back. I don't know if it was because I was looking forward to it so much for a year that ruined it or the movie just wasn't good. It was pretty slow and I just felt it was missing something. It's didn't feel as intense as the trailer. It still made me cry but at the end i wanted something more from the film. I'm curious to see what you think. :)

2. Hanadan movie is set to release in summer 08.

3. I checked out First Kiss because of Mao and Yuta. Mao's character annoyed me and Yota wasn't that cute in this, lol. I stopped after a couple episodes.

5. I'm excited for the drama too! I still need to see the film. :)

7) I'm saving For the one i love. I love Fujiki Naohito but I'm just not sure if i'm ready for another emo drama. Please tell me if it's worth it when you get to see it :)

6) I've seen all of Jotei. It's such bad cheese. :P The crap dramas I see just because Shota is in it. I think it's entertaining when you have free time but not something i would just recommend.

1. I don't really have high expectations for Boku (I just want some yummy MatsuJun angst) so we'll see.

2. YAY!!!! I wonder what it will be about.

3. Yeah, I read up on it and doesn't sound so good.

5. I love jdramas, but jmovies are a mixed bag for me. But we'll see.

7. I've never seen him in anything but the secondary role in proDai. Which ones would you recommend?

6. Yeah, I am basically in it for Shota.

1. I don't think there was enough angst :/ Btw, don't check out the manga..i did it out of curiosity and Jun. It was pretty graphic. O_O

2. Me too! I hope we get to see them get married. I can't wait to see Rui again. I miss Shun as Rui.

5. I know what you mean. There hasn't been as many good jmovies. I heard the movie is pretty good though.

7. Hotaru no Hikari!! He is so cute in this! The only other drama I seen him in was 1 litre of tears. He was great in that too though his role isn't that big. I tried out episode one of Slow Dance but I didn't get into it so it's on hold. I read he was really good in Love Revolution but I haven't seen that yet either. You should check out Hotaru No Hikari though! It's a really cute drama.

1. That's what I've heard. There is an anime and it's supposed to be just as graphic as well. O_O

2. I clearly miss Shun as Rui too. See previous post :) Btw, did you know, he has an upcoming drama where he is the lead? YESSSSSS!

5. And jmovies are usually short, so at worst, not much of a time wasting exercise.

7. What is Hotaru no Hikari about? I am staying away from 1 LOT because it sounds like the saddest thing ever. And I love Love revolution's name, so cool.

jerry and wu zun *melts*....

It's like an explosion of hotness. Especially since Alan Luo is no slacker in the hotness business either :)

HYD: I can't wait this long!!!!!!!!!

yeah, that seems to be the opinion on FK.

yeah HYD waiting is sooooo long.... i hope its not going to be as long as boku....

speaking of which the jun movie isn't as bad as i thought.... it was sad and yes deals with incest but there is a gentleness to it... and it was poignant...

Karei Naru Ichizoku will DESTROY YOU in its last two episode. So BRILLIANTLY executed by the fabulous Kimura Takuya, but yeah. I don't think I cry as easily as you do when it comes to dramas, but BAWLED (full on snot and sobs here!) for the majority of the last episode. Dude, I just recently rewatched half of the last episode when it was airing on television and even though I hadn't watched the drama since I last bawled, I was again BAWLING. :O So yeah. Take from that what you will. ;)

I think you'd like Rondo. It's part Korean drama and part Japanese drama, though obviously produced as Japanese drama. That chick from Winter Sonata (who's name I can't remember right now) is the female lead against Takenouchi Yutaka (who is brilliant and hot!) who is the male lead.

Jotei is totally your cup of tea though. I mean, the ACID-THROWING!! *laughs* I dunno, but I LOVED it. It was such a wonderfully addicting guilty pleasure and it's a joy to watch Kato Rosa (the lead) and Matsuda Shota both mature in their roles. They both still have some ( ... )

Oh, that doesn't bode well at all for my prospects of surviving KNI unscathed. I am an easy crier. But it just sounds like it is so good, and I would love to see Kimura in the role.

Mmmm, Rondo sounds awesome, what with my love of kdramas and all.

And I know jotei is my thing. I am going to revel in melodrama at the same time as I mock it. I hate to admit it, but it's true :)

I really must watch IKE asap. I want to see more of FN and I haven't watched that many 'older' dramas.

btw, since you are somewhat of a jdrama guru, is 'Himicho no Hanazono' good?

And yes, it's going to be a jdrama binge. I haven't watched one for months and I miss them!

You know, I didn't watch Himitsu no Hanazono because at the time it didn't appeal to me - plot nor cast - and still doesn't. ;) However, I have heard decent stuff about it. Not that it was anything to write home about though, just that it was a decent drama watch.

Re: HnH. I have it on DVD (but that is true about 17 billion dramas). I think I'll finish Sapuri first though, before grappling with the heavy duty misery in KNI.

Ooooh, thanks about the sales tip!

Itoshi Kimi E: I am so shallow, I never heard of it but then saw pics of Naohito in it and was all 'must have!'

FFA sounds cute but we'll see.

Re: Remote. I remember alexandral liked it too.

Sapuri manga's art is so not...artistic. Didn't care for it.

Re: Shinsengumi. Glad to hear it! Now, only if it wasn't so bloody long! I have yet to finish even Yoshitsune (am bad).

I but directed you to my manga providers.

Naohito will never in this lifetime be hotter than he was in g@me(and he and Nakama Yukie have amazing chemistry)

FFA has dark parts, but usually it is cuter than you'd expect the plot to be, but nowhere near to the point of cute fluffiness over angst.

alexandral may have liked Remote even more than me. But very quickly: 1) Tons of angst, 2) cute otp, 3) super serious withdrawn guy + cute bubbly not=very-bright-but-goodhearted girl, 4) sidekick named Bob, 5) nice dramatic OTP rescue at the end, 6) super angsty hero with lost past love.

As far as Shinsengumi knows: well, I'm supposedly known for my ability to devote a week or two to bingeing on a period epic...

I think I might like g@me, but spoil me for the ending, please?

Ooooh, my fave!

Heeee. I think Mr. Mousie would object if I did it though :)

honey and clover is an absolutely must-see: it surpasses genre (any genre) somehow, creates such incredibly alive world - with all antics and soft humor and love drama it's so very real (and heartwrenching at times, as somebody above said). it somewhere in my top-5, along with mushishi and haibane renmei - a masterpiece.

I will give it another try then!
