Wedding Music!

Ok here is a time I need anyone and everyone's help.

Kelly and I primarily want 80's music for our wedding, especially 80's alternative love song type stuff. We had a list of stuff, but we are also trying to compile more and add to it. So anyone has anything they can suggest or remind me to check let us know.

BUT EMO DIDN'T EXIST IN THE 80s! beddheadd February 8 2006, 02:46:02 UTC
Haha, this is my list. Some of it's questionable, I know. So what? It's the 80s, everything is a love song...or a sicko stalker song. Some aren't even love songs, but they sure sound like 'em. Haha ( ... )

"alternative"? What was alternative during the 80's?

Popular I can do. Alternative, as in songs nobody's ever heard of? Uh... well..

I suppose we could find you some Doctor Demento stuff. :-D

As in Alternative rock/radio, like what KROQ plays.

You know.. Anything that even my DAD listened to, I wouldn't exactly call "alternative". :-D

But yeah, Jen's pretty much covered all the biggies. I do have a CD of covers, called "Punk does 80s" I should loan you.

Step 1: Buy the Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Soundtrack Box Set.

Step 2: Hand it to DJ

Step 3: Enjoy!

I'd hit up a used CD store for Time/Life 80s Love Song compilations and things like that.

I always check the Music Space compilations when I am trying to remember songs. They're the people who are always selling those compilations on TV.

I don't know about 80's alternative though. Besides New Wave and stuff that was on 120 Minutes, was there really a lot of alternative in the 80s?

Yeah the alt stuff was basically New Wave, but there was some other stuff that just didn't fit the pop genre, but now is played when they do 80s flashbacks.
