I tired to tell you education is a pointless major. I'm getting plenty of hands on training subbing. Even that 8 hour subbing class I had to take was a fucking joke. 95% of it does not translate well into classroom situations and that percentage is upped to 99.9% when you're talking about middle school.

You realize that makes you sound like a pretentious cunt, right?

and it makes me really want to say Fuck You Too.

As a note, I apologize about the 'fuck you too' comment.

It just pissed me off moreso.

And I didn't do my 'walk away and come back to it when you're thinking better' thing.

Sorry.

/it did, however, make you sound pretentious.
//The classes are fine, if you had noted in my writing. It's the administration that's fucking everything around.
///Plus I'm not an Education Major, so acting like I was pissed me off even more

And who's to say you won't turn around and become an English professor? Most of the ones I've known didn't start out that way. Hell, there are days when even I think it looks a damn sight better than my job. :P

Saw this today -- I get the hell out of it, and I think right now you will, too: http://despair.com/challenges.html

I'd ditch the education program and get your Master's in English, then teach at the college level.

You'll have more time on your hands AND there's a slightly less amount of bullshit than at the public school level.

Except you have to be willing to get yourself published every year and do major projects until you are tenured. They each have their ups and downs.

Personally, I'd much rather do that than to work my ass off at public schools and have just about nothing to show for it.

AHhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhahahahahahahaha.

Coming from me, the English Secondary Ed teacher, the best advice I can give you is this: Education programs are all fucked up, no matter where you go. They can teach you a million things, but when you get in that classroom, most of it goes out of the window.

I would say that you either have to trudge through it all to get to the good, or maybe it isn't for you. While getting your MA might sound appealing, you can get it cheaper/for free if you are already a teacher.

Keep that in mind. :)

It's not so bad once you get into your field experience. But it's not getting any better no matter where else you go, either. ;)
