I've gotten better at avoiding sugary treats this past week. At the last doctor's appointment I was told I had gained too much, but overall, it hasn't been that bad. If you have even a slight issue with your doctor or midwife or whoever, get a new one. And don't wait. Because it's not worth it and you'll be sorry when it gets to the day and you're wanting to kill that person.

As far as birth plans go, be sure to put everything in there, but try to remember that it's just a guide for the delivery team. Things will probably not go exactly according to plan. As one nurse told me, "doesn't matter how you get there, just as long as everyone gets to go home with a baby." That being said, if you have dula your chances of things going the way you'd like them to are much higher.
