The sight of torn metal and wires does far less to discourage group morale than that of ruined flesh. And my hand can be replaced. I wouldn't ask this of you.
Your guilt complex doesn't impress me. I'm an inorganic being--this isn't real flesh. It won't act like real flesh. Like I said, my whole body is replaceable--I'm the logical choice if we need to sacrifice bodyparts.
I don't speak with guilt, but responsibility. And I assure you with equal confidence that whatever disposability complexes you and Asch share, I'm not willing to entertain them. Who's your partner?
