I read about it in Blink by Malcom Gladwell, which is an easy and (thus far, at least) worthwhile read.

I'm not sure I buy all of his rationale (which seems to be mostly guesswork based on outcomes), but I agree with many of his conclusions :)

i'll have to try some of the others, though. i know i spend active effort getting past my conditioning on plenty.

Yeah, I wonder if it changes things -- if the test actually measures subconscious bias successfully, I imagine it would take a fairly substantial shift to alter your score.
