My theme for daily photo wandering, and therefore instagram, lately, seems to be things people can barely believe are Baltimore. Maybe I've lived here long enough wielding a camera to have become inured to what most people think of by the place, and have started seeing the atypical in it. More's the truth that for any sort of rare weather, every ( Read more... )

I have such a city-crush on Baltimore. It's a gritty, liminal place of surprising beauty.

The second one is fantastic! It has that painting-like quality.

Nice!

First one is super pretty; this may not exactly be a compliment but I have to admit my first thought about it was 'wow that would make a great christmas card'! (I actually sent a christmas card this year and kind of had to settle regarding the photo I used for it.)

Hah. So the funny thing is, we very rarely get Christmassy weather here until mid-January. So just about every year, I get a shot like that waaay too late to make a Christmas card of it, think maybe I'll use it next year, and when Christmas comes around again, I've forgot. That one was taken on Christmas eve to note the very rare occasion that we already had snow. Which was still too late to make a card, kind of. (And, of course, it melted immediately and we still didn't have a white Christmas.)

I entirely forgot to finish cards this year. Maybe I'll use it anyway.
