first off, THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU FOR MAKING PIKE AND SPOCK HAVE SEX, I HAVE BEEN WANTING IT SINCE I SAW THE MOVIE. not to discredit everything else, because there's also the details, the characterization, and the extreme sad face i made when pike was telling spock his plans to be a captain for as long as he could. but yay sex!

random person, hi! I just wanted to say that I had a similar reaction to this, regarding Spock and Pike. I was initially skeptical that Spock would let himself be seduced, rather than the other way around. He's a professional -- and attractive and intelligent. Doubtless, he would have many clients/guests who would want him to 'feel' and enjoy their encounter. That's what every human wants from a Vulcan, it seems. So it made more sense to me that Spock was manipulating Pike -- playing the part so that Pike enjoyed himself as much as possible. As a courtesan, I don't think Spock would be the shy lover unless it was a role.

So, I thought maybe that could have been clearer -- since it's Pike's pov, maybe he would have been skeptical of Spock's ardor. But I LOVED the relationship they had by the end. Spock did draw back into himself -- while at the same time appreciating the time he had with Pike. He hadn't fallen in love and Pike didn't get to rescue him, but they are important to each other.

This was a great chapter!

Wherever this story goes, I just hope you write Pike again sometime in the future, because you've written him so well here. I also never realized how hot Pike/Spock would be (wow, very!). But beyond that squee factor, it made me very sad to see this man still in the hospital with such an uncertain future (and one that most likely does not include a starship-- which made me very sad).

Anyway, for what started out as such a cliche meme, you've both done a fantastic job with this story and writing these characters as both complex and wonderful. Can't wait for more.

I really should not make comments when I'm so disoriented from all the squeeing I did. First off, THANK YOU for the Pike/Spock, really been waiting for that pairing for a long time and you pulled it off magnificently, aside from the smex, the general interaction between them was just lovely. I hope that's not the last we see of it. Anyways, thanks for the fourth chapter, great job!
