I am the same as you: this is my all time fave Disney movie and I've been "ehhhh" about the remake since they first announced it :-/

And yeah, I tend to feel that way whenever they remake one of the classic Disney animations. Like, I saw the new Cinderella in theaters, for kicks. It was fine, and visually enjoyable, but it didn't really add anything to the story, or really improve upon it in any way? And I hold Beauty and the Beast to such a high standard, that I can only guess this remake will be similar. Pretty to look at and perhaps passably entertaining, but with no way to live up to the original.

oh! oh noooo! Well, if you're not opposed to the idea, it really is one of my absolute favorite movies of all time. You should give it a watch, if you can find a copy! (Disney is a pain in the butt to get ahold of sometimes, what with their penchant for keeping their films in their 'vault'... >.> ) Regardless, I hope you are enjoying the fic recs! :)
