It's good to carry on living your life but if you're in pain, you have to get through the pain first. You can't just switch that off. It's healthy to carry on alive and living but it isn't healthy to skip the pain part. It's also a good thing and it's necessary. It's beyond shit but necessary. It's part of the process and you should take the time needed, which is sometimes more than a week.
I read about what happened to your foster sister and I'm really truly sorry.
