This is my last week at Ridgeview Day Hospital. After that I'll probably be transfering to a different, longer term day program but its still uncertain. I'm trying not to think about this!

What do you want to know about WitS? For example this picture is at fault because they just look so married and I was like "on what planet would they be married?" and my brain was like "Not this one." and bam - Aliens. And since I already had aliens - I could handwave shit like sex&gender to suit my nefarious purposes. I originally had that universe plotted out through their addiction and mental health issues(which is a result of the human brain not being equipped to handle the kind of bonding - physiological and psychic) that a Refugee brain could, through Gerards sexual awakening (which is way later) and up an alternate!Bandit where Gerard was the carrier parent because of his alien biological imperatives. Also Mikey was supposed to have a MASSIVE slult-phase where he whored around the NJ punk scene because Gerard wasnt ready yet but shared all the experiences psychically so they could do it together. YEAH. So Idk. Ask me something :P

Is it okay to ask about stories you're writing? Because if it is I would love to hear something about Gerard's (and Mikey's because they're BROTHERS!) backstory.

The only things I'm writing atm are FOB centric - Patrick the Vampire Slayer and my bandomreversebb which is Mikey/Pete. *thinks* Are you asking about PTVS-verse Gerard? Or something else I forgot?

Okay. So. Gerard comes from a long line of Watchers ala Wesley Wyndham-Price only unlike Wesley, its mostly matrilineal. Read: Elena was a big time Watcher in her day (and very quietly in her Catholic way - a minor witch [she tended to work through the saints rather than through The Goddess]). Her daughter grew up in the Know and was like "FUCK THIS" and Elena respected her wishes but on the condition that her children grow up in the Know and with the choice to Opt In. Mikey doesnt have a lot of patience for it(although he's got some minor magick ability - less than Willow or Amy the Rat but is pretty talented at the defensive spells Elena and Donna INSIST they learn because their boys are going to survive to majority kthnx) but Gerard is All About It. He loves it. He spends all his time with Helena - going with her to Council meetings, learning about different beasties, weapons training - the lot. He wanted to be a Watcher - never had a rebel phase like Giles(although there is a possible Thing with Frank that I'm still not sure about

Where did the impetus for writing I Know This Hurts, It Was Meant To come from? Was it Pete's RL mysterious broken nose?

I notice that you have Pete literally picking at loose threads in both IKTHIWMT and I Hope He Is a Gentleman. It seems like it's an important detail/metaphor. Is it or am I reading too much into it?

It was hugely influenced by that picture of Pete with his face bleeding. Thats where the core of the idea came from but Pete has talked about the various and sundry ways he's hurt himself over the years. He throws himself off amps without thought, he doesnt sleep, doesnt take care of himself and generally could use a Dom *laughs* Theres more to it than that but its been a very long time and I dont remember all of it. Part of it is that I always wanted to write a BDSM Cinderella story and this was me indulging myself.

Seriously? Thread picking? I had no idea. It's just that Pete wore frayed jeans all the time and he's got that nervous energy. I am pretty sure thats why but it does make sense as a metaphor. Most metaphor in my writing is unconscious
