Hey,
I thought they didn't use Huck Finn in American schools anymore, because of the racial stuff?
And Charles Dickens is horribly written, it's like chewing stale bread, although his views on economics and social classes were quite interesting for his time.
Shakespeare's Macbeth is very good, don't know about King Lear haven't read it. I don't care much for his poetry (I'm more of an Owen & Blake fan. But I do like Shakespeare's sarcasm)
Books of this list I definitely want to read:
- Walden
- The Turn of the Screw
- Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?
Maybe I can read them in the Christmas holiday, don't have much time to read for fun these days.

some schools they don't, but my school teaches it.

I LOVE CHARLES DICKENS. omgATALEOFTWOCITIES=awesome

King Lear is a tragedy...a bit more complex than Macbeth. i highly recommend it. and i LOVE shakespeare's love sonnets

WALDEN IS BRILLIANT. It's essentially a commentary on America. Very good if you like Romanticism

The Turn of the Screw...ghost story :) It's very Victorian.

and Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf is an amazing play...it's a social commentary on Legacy America/McCarthyism during the 50s

The turn of the screw is a very strange novel.
Have you seen the film?
