Bah!  Hillsdale is about to start sending out eviction notices to those few of us remaining.  A total drag 'cos I can't really afford to live anywhere aside from Hillsdale.  As big a shit hole as it is, it has served my financial situation quite accommodatingly and for that reason I can never harbor any ill for this neighborhood.  Everything else I ( Read more... )

Jude Law is Watson and it's directed by Guy Richie. From the trailer I am expecting it to be good. Not traditional Holmes but still a good movie.

"Not traditional Holmes but still a good movie." -- That's just it! The producers said they were trying to make a Holmes movie that strays very little from the books. But I have a feeling that's not going to ring true. Maybe compared to the previous Holmes movies, though. Either way, I'm still excited about it.

Let's not forget Jude Law as Watson. And the trailers show it as being much more action oriented than most of the Holmes stories. But still, I'm going. You wanna go see it on a Stimulus Tuesday?

Jude Law as Watson is not as insane as RDJ as Holmes, but it's still pretty out there. Guy Richie just wanted big names with pretty faces to be in his movie. Not that I can blame him.

Anyway, yeah! Let's go see this together when it comes out.

I think RDJ is a fine choice to play Sherlock Holmes. His physiognomy is totally wrong, but he's a great actor and has both the patience and the talent to do the character justice. Did you see Chaplin? That's what really changed my opinion on what Downey is capable of. I have the fullest confidence in his abilities, but not those of the screenwriter, directer, producer, and everyone else involved with the project who clearly just want to make a boatload of money.
That action stuff put me off big-time, and I'm really worried that I'm going to be pissed off when I see it.

Well, fuck those assheads. You'll be okay, though. We were worried about moving out of Hillsdale, but our place in midtown cost $350 a month, which really wasn't too bad of a change. Simon's living there now and seemed happy with it. There's an apartment next door to him that's in the same price range, as well as a garage apartment in the same complex that I'm sure is cheap as hell.
