Oh no! I didn't mean to make anyone cry!

It just seems to get better and better every time I watch it.

I love your brain! ;)

Particularly fascinating point about the way the show plays with biology: I hadn't thought about it in precisely those terms before, but now, of course, I'm saying "yes, absolutely." Oh Farscape, may we never exhaust you!

One of the things that struck me very forcefully about the first season was the way all of the characters started out basing their instinctive trust on species alliance--Aeryn initially thought she could return easily to the Peacekeepers, and softened to John first because he looked like one; D'Argo instantly offered the Ilanics passage on Moya; Zhaan trusted the Delvian colonists despite all the warning signs; John believed that what he thought were humans would treat his friends well instead of dissecting them as lab specimens. It took betrayal in all cases to pull them out of that natural affiliation with like kind. There was a huge biological component to the way the Moya crew related to each other in the beginning; all of the culture clash was more species clash. And one of the huge themes of the show is change--whether a person changes, or becomes more what they are at the core, through adversity and suffering and friendship and love.

Great to see these ep dissections start up again. Thank you.

I like the observation of how "in character" they are in foreshadowing future events. Sure beats other shows where there is continity only to the episode.

This definetly reveals some layers to the charachers as well as adds to the binds that are connecting each member of the show.

Still love the Scorpy Acid moment as it was not scripted. (Director: Don't touch the acid you are gonna get hurt by it.)

The character development really is a strong and consistent progression on this show. There's nothing they do in the later seasons that isn't hinted at in the earlier ones.

I've just spent the afternoon reading through all your Farscape episode posts. They're really incredibly well written, and make me long to watch the show again, as soon as possible.

Thanks for the thought you put into these!

I'm so glad! I've been longing to do a re-watch too, although I won't be able to until I've finished another project. But I miss writing these posts, and I actually plan to finish them some day.
