Your dose of random for the day

Come January, Battlestar Galactica is moving to Sunday nights, where SciFi will pair it with The Dresden Files. I'm inclined to agree with asta77 that it looks like SciFi is trying to build up a second anchor night of programming. (Though didn't The Dresden Files have to be massively retooled? I seem to remember that word on the original pilot was ( Read more... )

As I told asta, I'm happy about the BSG casting news. I don't think we'll get any better look at civilian life, because they've basically steadfastly ignored that for two and a half seasons, but I can hope. Heh.

In other news, I would totally participate in World Hello Day if I left the house. But I am a shut in. *bangs on windows* Hee.

I was hoping the New Caprica arc would lead to more civilian/military action, but it looks like we're getting boxing instead. Hm!

I came thisclose to saying hello to everybody on my flist in the post before realizing that would be COMPLETELY missing the point. Heh.

I am pleasantly surprised by that casting spoiler. Yay!

VMars does seem to be floundering this season, and I think you and that blurb have put your collective finger on why. (Also, some of the dialogue has been awful, which is sad to see on a show that normally does that so well.) Maybe, as you say, once we get out of this arc, things will improve. I'm also happy to report that I was looking at the upcoming stuff on my TiVo and I saw an episode description that mentioned Wallace AND Mac. An embarrassment of riches!

That Lego Stargate is fantastic. IT SPINS, dude. But it is still not quite up to the level of the Lego Secrets of the Pharoahs.

Could it be true? I had begun to suspect that having them both in the same episode would be like putting matter and antimatter together, causing the universe to implode, but I guess we'll get to test that theory! (Seriously, I'd be more than happy if they'd tone down the stunt casting and show more of, you know, the people in the credits.)

Spinning is way cooler than not spinning! (And if you get that reference, I'll be way more frightened than I am that I made it.) The Lego pyramid tableau with the little Lego livestock and mummies and scorpions was pretty impressive, though.

Um, yeah. I'm more than a little annoyed that we have seen way more of Piz and... whatever Mac's roommate's name is than we've seen of Wallace and Mac. That's just not right.

I was referring to the 200th episode, with the spinning. Is that what you mean?

Heh. Yes, the spinning. Oh, PuppetHammond.

It also occurred to me this afternoon that signing Micheal to a contract is a way to ensure his services for next season. They may not have any big plans for him, but he has proven to be useful as more than Kara's boy toy and wasn't the reason that Billy was ultimately killed off is because Paul Campbell wasn't under contract and could come and go as he pleased thus creating writing headaches?

I read the description of tonight's VM and, yeah, glad I stuck with 'House'. ;)

That's plausible. I don't know how far they've filmed in this season (I assume a fair way, since they started last spring), but if they're planning a finale that will require the presence of Anders going into the next season, they may indeed want to make sure he's available.

that lego is indeed awesome! It spins! It lights up! Do the chevrons lock?! heh...

The SG1/SGA/BSG SciFriday lineup seemed golden; I still don't understand why they broke it up. I guess that's why I'm not a network executive. *rolls eyes*

Yeah, me neither. The Friday block was very reliable for them. I can get that they want to establish a beachhead on another night, but with SG-1 going away, that just leaves SGA on Friday, and given that the show's ratings experienced the same magnitude of bobble that SG-1's did when they were on their own, I don't know how it will do all by its lonesome, especially if there's no new (to the US) Doctor Who .
