Another thing I loved-Vala's speech at the end about the uselessness of regrets, about going forward. Although I wish Daniel hadn't attributed her wisdom to being a mother, because actually, it seems like her wisdom comes entirely from being Vala--from having had to deal with losing a big chunk of her life to the goa'uld and another to the Ori, and who knows how many other losses in-between, and deciding to survive it and look ahead, because looking back would probably have been crippling.

I joked to my honey that it was probably from Dr. Phil, and I was seriously waiting for that as the punchline. I'm disappointed they didn't deliver it, cause it would've been good, IMO :-)

It actually explains so much about Landry that he's taking cues from Dr. Phil.

Having the Tags appear in a box on my LJ would be cool, but I'm completely paranoid about attempting any adjustments and losing my banner.

I agree that Adria seemed lacking in the military leader department, but I just hand waved that by telling myself, as the vessel of all Ori knowledge, people will just blindly follow her. Plus, she's hot. ;)

And, seriously, what is up with all the candles? All these alien cultures built ships that can travel through wormholes, yet never got around to making batteries???

I'm really into the page summary. Apparently, this layout sizes the tags by how frequently I use them. Yikes, my Stargate tag is huge!

It just seems like a really bad idea to be riding around in a vacuum with an open flame in your vessel!

Adria as overgrown child, overconfident in her certainty that she'll get her way, not really grasping the complexity of other people, emotionally stunted and incapable of understanding the suffering she's causing, and drawn to her mother

Yes. This is the best explanation I've seen so far of what it is that I did like about Adria.

It's interesting, because pretty much the only power Vala has is the fact that she does understand people quite well--she's a quick and astute judge of character and situation. Adria has all of the power of the Ori, but she lacks that one thing.
