The word of the day is bacon mayonnaise

Bacon mayonnaise. I am trying to wrap my brain around this, really I am, because on the one hand, it's mayonnaise made out of bacon fat! And on the other hand, it has opened a Pandora's box in my brain--now that the idea is out there, I can't not do something with it. And I say that as someone who finds bacon fat really gross. I might have to ( Read more... )

I went to Dragon*Con for the past two years, though not this year. Hanging out with friends really is the best part.

Have a great time!

Lots and *lots* of Stormtroopers. And there were at least three authentic looking Darth Vaders walking around.

I don't know if that picture is really a casting spoiler. That is, I'm pretty sure my corner of the fandom would have heard if Janet was going to be in the ep, and the consensus on that photo on the danandjan list was that it was just someone with not-so-great photoshop skills doing a photo with all the main cast, past and present.

That said, I just might die of glee if they brought Janet in by surprise!!!

And thanks for the fic pimping, incidentally! ;)

That's lame but believable. Really, the assumption on seeing something like that is that it's promoting the content of the episode to some extent. I guess the promo monkeys at SciFi strike again. I would really love to see both Janet and Hammond of Texas.

It's all part of the low expectations game. That way, there is at least the chance of being pleasantly surprised.

Photoshop might not totally be to blame for the three armed Jacam (sorry, had to do it). I had a discussion with my electronics guy last week and he explained LCD vs plasma screens to me and our LCD monitors tend to lose all the tones within the black, so they may still each have two arms.

My mom keeps asking me if Jamie is coming to Dragon*Con, but doesn't ask much beyond that.

I'm really enjoying the Sam/Hunt relationship on LoM. Just when Hunt is completely pissing me off he goes and does something slightly redeeming surprising both Sam and us.

Your mom is probably nicer than my parents. My family is all about the mockery and the giving of hard times. We're a tough crowd.

Hunt is just fascinating, and so is the ebb and flow between him and Sam, the surprising places where they meet in the middle.

Because I live so close to it, it's actually easier for me to tell my parents that I'm going to Dragon*Con because that guy who was on Buffy and one of the geeks from The X-Files is going to be there. When I say "friends are coming into town for it", they always wonder where I get this influx of out-of-town friends from. They are not hip to the ways of the internet.*g*

As for the bacon mayonnaise...I like mayonaisse on a BLT, but I suspect this is a little different.

See, when I tried to throw a few names out to my dad, he got stuck on Kevin Sorbo and, well, it wasn't pretty.

I'm guessing the bacon mayonnaise has a much different flavor. Which is one of the reasons why, if I make it, I'm going to need to offload most of it on someone else. What the hell am I going to do with a cup of bacon mayonnaise? I don't use that much on a single sandwich.
