It's time for the next installment of "I watch Stargate so asta77 doesn't have to."

toysdream recently made an observation about Stargate's appeal. He said, in part, "It gives us a fantasy world in which the government of the United States, faced with looming catastrophe, places its safety in the hands of the smartest, bravest, most capable people the nation ( Read more... )

Yep, that's Dwight Schultz.

I did similar thing except I went, hey isn't that Barkley from ST:TNG? He's the Gene Hackman of syndicated TV--he's in everything.

I just told a friend who wanted to have dinner with me next Friday night that I have plans. Well, it's not a total lie, if by "plans" you mean "SciFi Friday." *sigh*

I'm so with you there. My boss and I went out to our co-lo (where the servers live) last Friday at about 10pm, and he asked me if I wasn't missing SciFriday, but I assured him there weren't new eps, otherwise I'd have been late. :D

Oh, that's right! I vaguely remember that.

Your boss obviously knows you well. (And hee! I know what a colo is--I speak IT moderately well.)

I work in Land O' Geeks & Dorks (which includes me, of course). For example, only a toy/comic store has more action figures in one place. Heh.

Of course they've got grapes on the road. Didn't you know it's harvest?

Signed, woman who has squished grapes with her feet.

I've made it very clear to just about everyone I know that I do not go out on Friday night....at least not until after September 25th.

Daniel's wife is still not dead? This definitely isn't BSG.

You are wise.

And yeah, still not dead. I was expecting her to bite it the entire episode, but she'll be back!

Suddenly, SG mutates into a Monty Python movie:

"I'm not dead yet!"

"Ah, ya will be soon."

*BONK*

Teal'c is pretty much an enormous walking cliche and I love him to pieces.

God, I love these reviews. : )

I'm just starting to catch a few of those first-season eps they've been re-running on Sci-Fi and DAMN! It actually hangs together pretty tight there right at the beginnning. The clunky stuff (such as the OMG PLANET OF SEXISTS) is good and clunky, but the character dynamics fall into place fast. I'm developing a very large affection for this show.

* Shut up, dying father! You do not get to dictate your daughter's dreams! And adding a heaping helping of emotional blackmail and guilt on top just makes you suck more!

Bwah!

I've actually been surprised by the decent level of continuity so far. I think I wasn't expecting much. Have you seen the Principle-Snyder-Care-Bear episode yet? That was excellent.

I'm glad you're enjoying these. :)

Yep, I saw Snynder. In the floral-arrangment straw wig. Priceless. It's the land of the wee folk and their resurrection and invisibility cloaking fields! Hee.
