Ever wonder what it would be like to be inside a lemon?

No? Me either. And yet, while the paint on the sunroom was still wet this weekend, I had the distinctly uncomfortable feeling of being trapped in citrus fruit, and wondered if I hadn't made a horrible, horrible mistake. Now that it's dry, though, it looks good, albeit extremely yellow. I painted one end of the room (which is long and narrow) a ( Read more... )

Oh, let me know what you think of Serenity! It probably will take a while for it to reach my little town, if it does at all :-( Damn, I hope I don't have to watch it at home from the computer.

If it's bad I'll be really disappointed...

It's actually not coming out in the States until September--this is an advanced screening, and the movie isn't completely finished (it's probably missing some special effects and other postproduction stuff). I actually thought Firefly had a fair number of problems, but I'm really excited about the movie (and very excited to be living somewhere it's being screened in advance!) and I've already heard good things, so I don't think it will suck.

I've been inside a lemon before. It was a 1977 Ford Granada. real POS! The car stalled if you turned left too fast..... Very handy at intersections.

Wish I was both closer to SF and had an opening to catch the screening, but I'll await with the masses. ::sigh::

Alas, another element of a Bad Monday, settles around my ankles.

If no one else has claimed the ticket, I'd be interested. I live on the Peninsula. zandra1950@yahoo.com

Hee! Dude, I'm convinced that yellow is the bane of DIY home decorators. We've tried it in two houses now, and in the first house, what was supposed to be a nice maize kind of shade came out bright primary yellow, and in this new house, we had to try three times before we got a color we could live with, and I'm still kind of ambivalent about it. And it's on a lot of the walls, and we did a whole faux-finish thing with it so every time we changed the shade we had to kind of start from scratch... argh. I am scarred for life. Scarred I tell you!

The nice thing about yellow, though, is that it provides a lot of color (which is nice on rainy days here) without darkening the room.

Anyhow. I'm glad to hear you're pleased with the result. Go you! And the darker shade on the end should even out the room (at least that's what my bazillion decorating books tell me), so... yay, perspective!

In conclusion... I give you cute Starbuck to cheer you. :)

Yes! We are seduced by its sunniness, its buttery whispered promises, but man is it a tough color to judge. I think this is going to end up looking pretty good. I'm stuck with it for a while, in any case, because there's no way I'm repainting that room again inside of a year. I am DONE.

I'm looking forward to Serenity too, although it's going to completely kill me because I'll have to be up at 6 the next morning to make my train.

Heeee! So true. And I know exactly what you mean... I'm not sure I'm delighted with the colors we ended up with in our house, but no way I'm getting near a paint roller for quite some time.

And re: Serenity... eek! Yeah, my boy has to be at work at 7 the next morning. I'm lucky because I'd already taken Friday off (my mom is coming in for the weekend to help me work on some wedding stuff... so I'm pretty much picking her up at the airport and dashing off to the movie--happy Mother's Day, Mom!). It sucks that it's so late, though, because it would be fun to have a post-movie chat (since I'm sure my squee will know no bounds), but I don't think anyone is going to be up for that kind of thing, including me. :)
