I am done with my project! There is not enough profanity in the world to describe the various ways this thing did not work the way it was supposed to. But now it's over. Whee!
I have been very sucky about commenting this week and will be remedying that right away.
I am finally going to have a chance to catch up on the Spuffy kinkathon this
( Read more... )
Thank you! And I was sorry to have missed y'all last night. Stupid friends and their stupid birthdays. Now I have to track down someone who has TiVO'd the show correctly.
Thanks for the info! I'll probably catch the rerun anyway because damn, that episode was Apollorific and included a very fine shot of The Arms, but I watched it at D.'s today. And then we watched Buck Rogers and laughed and laughed and laughed. That show was much better when I was 8.
Congratulations on being done with your project, and great big congratulations on the new job! But you have my sympathy on the commute. How long is it?
he makes me get out of the car and stand on the street while he finds parking because that's the only way it will happen.
Thank you! The commute is not pretty--about 40 miles each way. I will probably take the train part time, drive part time. Fortunately, commuting in Silicon Valley is universally bad and most software companies are okay with employees shifting their work hours later to avoid traffic, so it's not as bad as it could be.
I have really bad parking mojo. If I'm in the car, there will not be a parking space around for miles.
Thank you! I hope you're next to make a good job announcement. And yay! Someone is actually going to read a rec I've made. ;) Thea is an extraordinary writer, and I hope you enjoy it.
You and SDW are so the same. I think you're set on something, have talked yourself into something, and then you do the opposite.
Hee! I was all, "Job A has this and that and the other advantage, Job A is great, Job A blah blah blah. Oh look, I'm signing the papers for Job B." I ended up feeling like it was a better move for my professional development, on top of the stability, and it doesn't hurt that they're throwing a lot of money at me.
After I read the Spuffy Kinkathon stories and write promised stuff and work on the original... Oh, who am I kidding? I'll bookmark Thassalia's story. Heh.
Doooooo eeeeeeet.
I'm going to try to be around during the day at least a little, but I can't promise anything because I don't know how Large Business Software Company feels about AIM.
