It was gorgeous and sunny when I was running this morning, but now the fog is blowing in. Ah, summer in San Francisco.
I just got an overwhelmingly positive performance review, which was nice (especially since there will be no raises this year--at least there aren't pay cuts), but I find that my ability to believe the feedback is tempered by an

Um... you are brilliant and you work extremely hard, and under conditions that would drive the average person completely insane. Fucking right they gave you a great review.
I hate the impostor syndrome! It makes me sad for all of us.
I had had no idea there was any other pronunciation than so-to-may-OR until I saw that. Apparently calling people by the names they use is the first step on the road to apocalypse or something.
It seems like a really well-done show. It's been somewhere on my massive Netflix queue for a while, and now I'm trying to figure out how to carve out some time to move it up.

In a weird way, that makes me happy to know. I liked how uncompromisingly real it was: no rescues or happy endings, and the one little girl living just a lucky chance (and, given where she's going to live when she heals, maybe, I'm guessing, that chance is not so lucky).
Considering the long hours you put in, the dealing with people who have no idea what they are doing, and the thousand little fires you've had to help put out I'd have been extremely pissed if you didn't receive an awesome review.
