LEGO SHARKS! It's like Christmas AND your birthday!

And mmmm, that souvlaki looks yummy. My mom gave me this recipe for a chicken souvlaki salad a while back--same principle as above, just served over cucumbers/tomatoes/feta/kalamata olives, plus pita triangles brushed with olive oil and sprinkled with oregano with salt and then toasted, OMG SO GOOD--and it has been bringing me much joy. Your version sounds equally delightful--I will have to try it!

Oooh, that salad sounds good too, although my local store sells locally made fresh pita that I'm not sure I'd want to mess with, it's such perfection as it is.

And I haven't forgotten about spinach recipes! Although I also haven't, like, pulled them together and posted them. Some day.

No rush! Right now I'm sort of preoccupied with trying to find out ways to make the iron in spinach bioavailable, anyway. :)

My next vegetable adventure will be braised cabbage. When I have a couple of hours to spare. hahahahaha.

Locally made fresh pita! NOM.

Mmmmm, souvlaki.

I think ABC is running the Castle eps out of order because I swear they were talking about Nikki Heat last week.

I think I'm going to start rewatching Farscape with farscaperewatch when it starts next week.

Me too! I keep forgetting to pimp the comm on my LJ.

$149 for a Lego set?!?!? I'm having one of those, 'Back in my day...' moments. I feel so old. :(

I didn't notice that, but I have been wondering about the airing order, since the level of familiarity between Beckett and Castle seems to be running on a yoyo.

$149 for a Lego set?!?!?

Legos are freaking EXPENSIVE. Also, I have this entire giant rant about how they used to sell sets of blocks so that kids could build things with their imagination, but now they sell sets with specific, specialized pieces so that you can only build what's on the side of the box with them, and how that's destroying children's minds and bringing an end to life as we know it.

I was at a toddler's playground this Sunday with the D. family, and nowadays they have this squishy rubber play surface, and I caught myself saying, "Back in my day, we rolled around in the dirt and we liked it!" I feel old too.

Your blurb about 30 Rock made me want to watch it for the first time since the premiere, it sounds very puppet!Angel.

I'm really shocked that I'm not only tolerating Castle, but actually enjoying it. Who knew Fillion's charm was enough to make anything palatable? Certainly not I.

I usually shred my cucumber when making tzatziki, and then put it in a towel and wring all the water out of it - that way the tzatziki won't be a watery mess if you make enough to last for a few days. Also, a dash of olive oil brings the whole thing together, I find. Damn, now I really want some tzatziki!

The puppets on 30 Rock were more of a throwaway, but they were still really, really great.

I'm really shocked that I'm not only tolerating Castle, but actually enjoying it.

I have also been surprised by how much I'm enjoying it. It's fun. They mock themselves, and that's key.

I've actually found that with Greek yogurt, I didn't have the watery-cucumber problem I've had in the past when using regular plain yogurt. It's so thick that even if the cucumbers give off a little water over time, you can stir it back in and the tzatziki stays thick.

being a dreamer with an extremely limited imagination, he's got few options.

What a fabulous description of Michael.

I also agree with placing Pam as the other dreamer in the office, which I hadn't thought about. Other watchers of the show are calling her an idiot or selfish or whatever, but I dunno... Watching her when she stood up and said "Oh no", realizing she was actually following Michael out that door in pursuit of something better, it was one of those chance taking times even if it ended up backfiring.

I look forward to seeing Michael actually trying to get his business off the ground. I have this weird feeling it may do better than we think. After all, we have no idea how high he can fly ;)

For laurashapiro, super-easy Greek food:

Ooh, I thank you. I now really want to make that. *bookmarks*

In my quest to blog about disturbing pet costumes, I bring you this.

Oh, poor poor puppy. I don't even want to know if there's a Darth one. That poor dog stuck in the mask.

He's had this dream since lunchtime! And he is a total idiot savant salesman; if anyone can make a go of it, he can.

I'm a little fearful for Pam, but I wasn't that surprised that she joined him. She does have these moments of impulsively trying to change her life, and she had his back during the lecture circuit tour.
