That's what has to change, and it's wonderful and ideal to be able to see the big picture and move beyond the past, but it's also a little inhuman to be able to do so easily.I couldn't sleep last night so I thought more about the episode, the series in general, and some of the criticisms I expected to see. I was thinking about our won history and how, eventually, the vast majority of us do forgive and move on. The British no longer hate the Germans for the actions of the Nazis. The Japanese have good relations with the U.S., a country that dropped two nuclear bombs on them. There are dozens of other examples. So, yeah, they don't have anything like the time or scope for that kind of reconciliation, but I'm glad that they're showing it's not easy or automatic.

I suppose I could say the same thing about Laura's current state, actually. I also think she'll resume the mantle of leadership, because she's so good at it and they desperately need her now, but I'm glad it's not easy or automatic for her either, after the disappointment of
