Sunday's post on Wednesday - because that's apparently the way I roll

I have missed a bunch of birthdays. Happy very belated birthday to _jems_, and belated birthday to sugargroupie. (sugargroupie, forgive me for not getting in touch with you while I was in Birmingham; on top of some airline shenanigans, I was sick. Maybe next time?) And happy slightly belated birthday to molly_may--I meant to post on Sunday and then got poleaxed by bad news, and I'm ( Read more... )

I just wanted to say that I love reading your reactions to Babylon 5 - they take me to such a happy place. You are actually knee deep in my favorite group of episodes. Seasons 3 and 4 were my favorites of all the B5 seasons - I love how everything was explained but wasn't insultingly so (everything made/makes sense and was/is consistent with everything that came before.) So much love I have for these two seasons. And moreover, you are quickly coming up upon my absolutely favorite episode of the entire show - 4.22, The Deconstruction of Falling Stars.

I'm really glad! I have been enjoying how everything seems to be coming together at once now.

SDW sent me that story about the dog and the elephant and it totally made me cry. So adorable and sweet.

They just seem so happy with each other. Anybody who doesn't melt at that is made of STONE.

I continue to love your B5 reactions, just so you know! And as ladydey says above, this is all right in the midst of the best of the show--this s3-s4 arc. Despite some unfortunate eps (oh "Walkabout," why do you exist?), there are so many complex and interwoven storylines that all come to a head here and throughout season 4. Good stuff.

But I didn't realize that she was Laura Ingalls Wilder*, so that was a surprise.

The first appearance of Anna, in a video clip at the beginning of season 2, used a different actress (though I think that scene was re-shot later with Melissa Gilbert because it comes up again somewhere in one of these eps). But Melissa Gilbert and Bruce Boxleitner are married IRL (John and Anna's wedding picture is actually theirs, apparently), so I'm guessing that's how she got the job for Anna's more extended appearance.

And my belated condolences on the loss of your dog! *hugs* I've been thinking of you.

Yeah, they did reshoot it for a "flashback"--it was noticeable because normally the show doesn't have to do that, because it's so well planned out in advance. I heard about Boxleitner and Gilbert being married, and that explains this B5 casting decision just about as well as anything I've seen (this show has such weird guest casting).

Thanks for the hugs! I'm getting used to the idea of life without him, but that's never something you want to do.

I feel much better about Stephen now.

Words that I never, ever thought you would utter!

I KNOW!

Up is down, black is white, and so forth!

You know, I honestly can't remember much about Stephen from future episodes, which suggests that the horror may be behind us, but that he sure doesn't get any more interesting. (:

Thanks. I'm getting used to the idea that he's gone, but it's always hard.
