I so enjoy your recaps of The Office. You say everything I always find myself thinking, but much better and funnier. (Darryl's voyage of the damned made me laugh obnoxiously.)

I had every bit as hard a time as Dwight sitting through Jim's epic string of WRONG about BSG

YES. It was really making me twitch after the first bit!

I kept wondering if Michael had offered Darryl overtime for that drive. Darryl must have at least had a rough idea (7 hour ride with Michael Scott) of what he was getting into.

One of the things I adore about the show in general is that they not only made Dwight a fan, but wrote him like they're fans and know exactly what it's like.

I thought the last Office was the most emotionally wrenching that we've had -- while still being funny. Thanks for putting into words what I couldn't.

I don't know how they can be so simultaneously funny and heartbreaking, but Michael--who could be so cartoonish--always kills me with his hopes and dreams.

I've been watching The Office so we can actually talk about the series...TOMORROW! Eeeeee!!!

Jessie tried to help Cromartie find "Alison" to get even.

I thought I missed a big reveal until I realized you were talking about Jody. ;)

I didn't having the voting ordeal others have had, but, yeah, I can attest that the system needs some upgrades. And I was darkening in that circle for Obama/Biden so hard I made the booth shake. :p

I can't believe it's tomorrow! Hey, I'd better vacuum so that you're not walking on crumbs...

I'm relieved I was remembering Jody's name wrong, because it was really annoying to have to Jessies there.

I'm actually working from home today so that I can vote. It was the only way I could make it work with my train times and the fact that the San Francisco ballot in and of itself is hideously long. But I'm a privileged white collar tech worker, and I have that option. It's got to be an incredible hardship in places with long lines if you're paid by the hour.

And if you’re an hourly wage worker, you are totally getting screwed, because even if your state mandates that employers give you time off to vote, they don’t necessarily mandate that you are PAID or that there’s any mechanism to make sure employers are following those rules.

Yeah, that's one of those things where the laws on the books are nice, but it is an enormous hardship--and sometimes a big financial hit--for hourly wage workers to stand in line for hours to vote. If they even can do that without feeling like, in practice, they're going to be fired. The lines are also very difficult for people with disabilities, dicey transportation arrangements, and the elderly.

We really should either make election day a national holiday or hold elections on Saturdays. Obviously, some people do have to work on holidays and Saturdays, but it would help a lot.

But John's rebellion has now resulted in the death of three people which Sarah cannot stand let pass, no matter how much she wants to cushion John from the world they inhabit.

Yes! It certainly is a drastic upping of the stakes. I also like that the show is really digging into what protecting John means. Sarah's impulses toward mercy are more human and moral in so many ways, but Cameron and Derek's ruthlessness is a lot safer, and the show isn't pulling a lot of punches in setting up the choice by trying to weasel things around so that moral and safe are the same thing. Sarah spared the fourth thief--and he ended up in Cromartie's hands, which not only endangers the Connors but might mean a lot more suffering and an awful death for the thief in the end. That was pretty chilling.
