It smells like a campfire everywhere I go. This is going to be a very, very bad fire year, and there's not much anybody can do about it, at least in the short term. I wanted to go running last night, but according to the local news, I might as well smoke fifty packs of cigarettes and save myself the wear on my running shoes. Maybe by this ( Read more... )

I KNOW! Doesn't that seem like just the thing to have in your freezer at all times? Brilliant!

I don't even bake and I desperately want to try these! (My weakness is cherry pie filling. If I had an ounce less pride, I'd just eat it out of a can! Made into tiny jar pies, though? No excuses necessary!)

I totally used to eat cherry pie filling out of the can when I was a kid. Is there some kind of age limit to that? There shouldn't be.

On the other hand, a freezer full of tiny pies is a pretty awesome thing.

You could always do both.

It strikes me that we are seeing, one by one, government by government, the tipping over of all of the major participants in the Babylon 5 Council toward militarism.

U R SMRT.

It's crazy how I can never comment on your B5 posts without spoiling you. So much to say! But I must not!

I never bake, so this isn't fair, but laurashapiro June 26 2008, 00:13:06 UTC
I would totally eat jar-pies if you wanted to make some. La la la...

If you are volunteering to be a guinea pig, I might take you up on that at some point. I just remembered that I have a dozen Ball wide-mouth pint jars in my closet from some previous unsuccessful flirtations with canning.

I can't see the tiny pies in jars! SNIFF.

RE the audiobooks, I think there have been some reviews on the newsletter... yeah, there's one here.

The site does seem to be loading wonkily. Boo. I did get it to come up though.

And ooh, thanks for the link to the reviews. I should have thought of the newsletter, but I've been reading my flist on a journals-only filter for a while because of time constraints and I managed to forget it existed. Duh!

I missed your triumphant completion of the project. Thank god. It's good to see your posts on my friendslist once more. I hope you're treating yourself to some MUCH DESERVED good times.

Good luck with the fires, too - I'm hoping there's nothing left to burn this season in SoCal.

I am looking at pie recipes right now, which is much, much nicer than working, that's for sure.

Fortunately, we don't have any actual fires too nearby, but the smoke is AWFUL. I hope there aren't too many fires down there either; it's been such a dry year.
