Aug 17, 2008 21:58

I had been meaning to do this for some time, but life continues to get in the way...especially now which is a very long story, not a good one and I'm tired of only posting negatively on this journal. So, since my dear lass MLR missed a lot of SYTYCD this year, I wanted to give her a chronicle of my favorite routines from this season...enjoy my ( Read more... )

How are you doing? I've really missed you on here. I know that you have been going through a lot.

I'll check out the videos. I'm amazed you found them because I don't have any luck with youtube and SYTYCD. I'm excited as I haven't seen all of them.

When will you be at Dragoncon?? I'll email you my number. :)

Top 5 Girls Routine - Mia Michaels contemporary about Angels. madladyred August 21 2008, 01:31:43 UTC

WOWOWOWOW, that was amazing. Mia usually impresses me, but this was so lovely that I'm taken with her all over again. This will go in my top five favorites of hers.

My friend disbandedtoastr sings Ave Maria at the local Rosary, and I can't wait to tell her she sings it better than Celine Dion.

I'm so glad you posted this! I missed nearly every one of the group dances. :(

I hope that dance was as fun to perform as it was to watch. They had the best smiles on their faces. I'm sure Raven would explode if he had to watch it, but I still found myself wishing he were here to comment on it. I love the costumes, and it looked very Bollywood as compared to the bits of Bolly I've seen. It certainly made me want to see some Bollywood movies. :) I have two movies, thanks to Raven, but we haven't watched them yet.

I wish I'd seen this entire season!!!

What's the best way to get you a personal email? Don't want to post what's been going on up here.
I knew you'd love these performances, there were certainly other good ones, but these stood out for me.
What are you dressing up as for D'Con?

you can use dcmred @ cox (dot) net
that's the address i put out in public places. (but I'll message you another email address, too)

For the con I'm doing a pirate and Doctor Who. I'm also doing my Star Trek costume, as usual, and Kim Possible because it'll be easy to walk around in during the day. We're also doing a Steampunk night, but I'm not sure that mine is particularly Steampunk. Toaster and Redd made a bunch of amazing jewelry and danglebits, so those will make me look good regardless of the actual clothes I'm wearing.

We are in total agreement over these. I did catch them either in repeats or at the finale. I loved Mark because of the two of his here. Still, as much as I loved Mark, I didn't want him to win the entire show. I would have been equally happy with Katee or Joshua winning, also based on these performances.

Joshua & Katee - A Hip Hop Dance about someone getting their orders to ship out to war.
Katee & Joshua - John Meyer song
Chelsea & Mark - A Hip Hop routine about loving a workahaulic.
Mark & Courtney - Burlesque and taudry and odd

And yes, hooray for Nigel and Mary!!

I had not seen these!
Twitch & Kerrington - Neat contemporary with a prop
I really liked that they were sharing the pajamas!!
Shane Sparks - group routine
I missed Shane, too.

Gosh I love this show so much. I love the judges, the choreographers, the dancers, and the art of dance. It's pure joy and love. It's the good inside humanity. :)
