I'd suggest you switch now, and use last year's number as your budget number. You're sure to be beneath that, and the extra can be thrown at something or saved (like for Italy!) You don't want them to have an interest free loan!
(and WOW on the usage! I'd like to look at those new strips you have next time I'm over, I'm considering one for the living room and the DVR, or hopefully at some point a media PC)
It turns out we have a $1000 credit on the account for overpaying. I canceled the balanced billing, divided the $1k by 12, and am subtracting $80 per month off what I've been budgeting. I won't have another bill due until that credit is used up either. :)
Good idea on the budgeting, that should effectively bring down the amounts to where you're really paying. And socking away what you would have been paying gives you another $1000 somewhere savings wise.
I'm glad we don't pay for heat. Electric is pretty bad though, especially the last two months with my laptop and tv running more often. :)

i would keep those bills for data to show prospective buyers if you ever decide to sell your house. unbelievable!
