There's a chill in the air with winter coming on, and the princess of Judea has, apparently, lost patience with shivering. She is rifling through what clothing she can find in the plothole, running her hands over fabrics and rubbing them against her cheek to test the feel. "I should try the peacock blue," Briseis murmurs. She stands in the doorway, half in and half out of the room, watching Salome - silently, up until now.

She will let this go; no use in prolonging or heightening the mutual aggravations. Instead, Briseis' attention turns back to the cloth in her hands. She runs her fingers across it, getting a feel for the soft fabric. "And what form or make would you have the dress be?" (Not that Salome will have many options; Briseis is rather limited to the fashions of her own era.)

She shrugs helplessly. "It must keep off the chill." Salome knows very little of the world outside Judea.

"That I can do." Briseis has no eyes for Salome, now; all her thoughts are on the cloth and the potential garment it represents.

Typist: ...this would be the perfect opportunity for my costume design background to come into play, yeah? XD Alas, I only got a B in that course, which was years ago besides, and my memory runs more to the Renaissance than the ancient Greeks...

"It serves to pass the time," Briseis admits, still focused on the cloth. "And there is...some pleasure to be had, in taking one thing and forming of it something else, an entirely new thing. The act of creation - yes, this, I enjoy."

"Ay. 'Tis so." There's something very little-girlish about the way she says it; she is still very young beneath her paint and jewels.
