I've only ever watched Firefly....how much would I need to know the other shows?

You're always allowed to use only one show if that's what you want. :) Only some game challenges (like guessing screencaps) include all 4 shows, but then you can still do the parts that you know and leave out the rest. You just wouldn't be able to vote, but voting challenges are relatively rare, and participation still counts if you make something for the challenge but don't vote later. :) I actually joined the comm when I only knew Buffy and S1 of Dollhouse, I watched everything else a few months later. :D

(You should totally watch the shows though, because they're awesome, hee. At least Buffy! :D)
