Heh. Personally, I rather think she's attracted to the IDEA of Jack as opposed to Jack himself, but that's just me. I mean, would she really have left him to his "death" if she actually cared about him? There are plenty of instances where she could have left Will to die but didn't. So, uh, yeah.
I'm afraid I've moved totally to Suzi's camp in the "Norrington is HAWT!!1" sweepstakes. Jerk or no, mmmm hmmmm hmmm! ;)
It was funny seeing the cousin from Pride and Prejudice as the bad East India guy. My mom said, "I didn't know he could be attractive!" and I said, "I don't know you." Hahaha.
I liked it all right. It just wasn't nearly as good as I expected it to be.
That's true. But I just don't see her liking even the IDEA of Jack, especially since she didn't in the last one. *shrug* Plus, she was conflicted about leaving him to die, but she knew she had to do it. I just don't know. lol
I know! The cousin from P&P shocked me, too. And your mother is weird. hee!
Also, Beeman from Constantine was one of the guys on the ship Elizabeth was on. Those British people, they just show up everywhere. ;)

OMG! I totally didn't even catch that! lol! Awesome! I knew I recognized him from somewhere.
Nearly all the reviews I told to Me or read on LJ had the viewer slide out of their seats and of course, your review was more grounded. Finally, 2 sides to PotC reviews. I want to see it, cuz it is summer and want to be entertained....this just lets Me know how much entertainment I will get. Plus I watched Potc I last night on DvD.
I can understand the "small movie" phenomena; last summer I loved "Wedding Crashers" BUT simply adored "Pride and Prejudice" (SO smart...and Keira *gaaaaaaah*) When in doubt, watch movies by Focus Films....they are always stunning.
It was entertaining. Just not as fulfilling story-wise as I wanted to be. I do like to be objective on occasion. lol
I like all kinds of films, but the smaller ones are generally the ones that stick with me and the ones I watch a million times. They usually just have more heart and meaning. Popcorn movies are fun though.
I really liked POTC2, and still love Jack and all his selfishness. Would I want to sail out to see with him? No. But I enjoy laughing at him.
In reality, Will is my favorite character, and boy, does it feel good to admit it. (I was surrounded by bad boy lovers this weekend and thus, had to keep quiet. They know I love the good guys.) I think Will was fantastic in this movie.
Elizabeth annoyed me in the first movie so she doubly annoyed me in this one. She is a borderline Mary Sue, IMHO.
But all in all, I thoroughly enjoyed the movie. It was fun, and I'd go see it again.:)
Will was absolutely, freaking amazing. I adore him to itty bitty pieces.
I shout out for the good guy no matter what. Hero pride! hehe Bad boy lovers? I don't get it! LOL To each her own and all that, but geeez. We hero lovers are oppressed, I tell you. ;)
I didn't mind Elizabeth in the first one. I just wanted to strangle her half the time in this one.
It was fun, I was just sad I didn't get much out of it beyond that.
Hmm, I guess that after reading your review (I didn't go towards spoilers, though), maybe I will wait for the prices to lower for both PotC and Superman Returns -_- I'm not that in a hurry, and I want to save money.
Yeah, I'd probably wait for PotC2, too. However, if you wanna go ahead and see Superman, it's pretty much worth it if you can see a matinee. It's got great special effects that need to be seen in a theater.
Thank you. While I didn't dislike this movie as much as you obviously did, probably because I didn't buy into that whole triangle thing (I think I just ignored it). However, everyone seems to look at me like I've got two heads when I tell them that I didn't enjoy this near as much as the first one (which I saw twice in the theatre and own).
Well, I didn't mean to come off like I hated it. I didn't. It just didn't do anything I thought it would, and it wasn't really what I had hoped. Plus, the triangle thing is stupid, and them even attempting it is distracting for me because I thought it was so stupid. LOL
I saw the first one in the theater three times, and received it on DVD that Christmas. The fact that I have no desire to see this one again in the theater makes me sad. It wasn't supposed to be that way.

Now...to make a Will banner for my LJ and find a Will mood theme. Know of any? (Or, heck, I'll take Orlando Bloom.)
