BULLETIN: Cold white stuff is cold.

ALSO: Difficult to drive on.

P.S.: Would not be so difficult to drive on if I didn't have trouble doing the 0 to 60 in three seconds ninety degree turn out of my apartment complex when it's dry.

P.P.S.: Also, I appear to have lost my non-hideous gloves.

All in all, does not bode well for winter.

1) Yes

2) Yes

PS1 -- Ouch. I have a friend whose parking lot turn is a very steep slope (leading under the bulletin) with a sudden 90 degree turn exiting onto a busy roadway, so I know the type of thing you're describing. Good tires help, also with 2)

PS2 -- Get better gloves. When it comes to real cold paying extra for better tech is money well spent. If you can find goat angora knit gloves they're ideal -- light and thin enough that you can still feel things through them, but warm and wind resistant. They are worth every cent, and are frequently on sale after Christmas so they're not quite so outrageously priced. For cheap gloves that still work try Thinsulate(TM) but you will have to replace them frequently because they wear out quickly.

Actually, I think my gloves are find in terms of warmth, they're quite heavily padded ski gloves (which makes them just a bit clumsy), but they have very good interior insulation, and nice traction for using tools.

I call them hideous because they are bright orange. Eye-searingly bright orange, clearly meant to be used with fluorescent colored ski-wear. I thought I had another pair in the usual black, but I can't seem to find them.
