1st Birthday Party

Mar 10, 2008 10:14

Well it is official - Mackenzie's 1st Birthday Party was a success despite my worst fears from the day before!!  I really don't remember much about the party as it seems like we got there and set up and then the next minute we were packing up and heading home to put the birthday girl down for a much needed nap ( Read more... )

What a fun day! I love the soda bottle favors, cute idea! Her smash cake was so cute....it was half as big as she was :)

Yeah the giant cupcake was a bit hit with everyone at the party!! At one point DD pulled it closer to herself and that is when it ended up all over her outfit!!

Love the photo of her and the little boy hugging, plus the one where she had her head on your shoulder, and then reaching for the cake. Too cute!

Looks like she had a great day. Did she desert you at the end of opening her gifts? It looked like you were alone towards the end, and unwrapping the gifts yourself.

Glad it went so well for you, and the weather didn't disrupt your plans! :-)

That would be my oldest nephew giving his cousin a hug!! My sister loves that picture of them hugging one another. I have to say when she cuddles like that with me it just makes my heart melt and to get a picture is priceless!!

You are correct she left in the middle of gifts. I think she ended up being held by Jenny (the daycare lady) as we had approached a meltdown from being extra tired at that point!!

Looks like the party was a hit!

What color hair does Mackenzie have? I always thought it was brown from the pictures you posted, but it looks red like yours in her party pics.

I would agree the party turned out really well and that was really nice.

As for hair color it is really hard to tell as at times it seems brown and then other times it seems just as red as mine. When she was first born it was my color and then it goes through these weird cycles. Either way she has daddy's beautiful blue eyes!!

I love the pictures! You really did a great job with this party. The details are really cute.

That cupcake is HUGE!!! Looks like she was just playing with the frosting and then you gave her a taste and she was like "WOW! THis is good!". Hehehe. too cute!

She is adorable! I also love the little boy hugging her in the first couple pictures. Thats so cute!

I wish event planning could be more of a career as one of my co-workers and I joke about doing it all the time!! Right now I just need to pay the bills and plan the parties within my circle. One day you never know what might happen!!

Everyone jokes the cupcake was half the size of Mackenzie. Either way she loved it and couldn't wait to get her hands on it!!

As for the little boy that would be her oldest cousin or my sisters son!! He really loves his baby cousin and always wants to give her hugs!! He is quite the ladies man in general and it is always a running joke as he always finds the ladies at parties.

I wish I could have been there. Did I tell you that I was thinking about surprising you and driving out? Good thing that I didn't (b/c of the weather) but deep down I wanted to be there. Loved her playing with the boxes. Just like a kid, spend tons of money and they want to play with "free" things. LOL!

That would have been awesome, but with the weather I am glad you decided to stay put!! As for kids and free things it is amazing how much joy they find in those little things!!

To this day, Ty will play with a magazine over a toy. I actually threw away his Toys-R-Us book and you would have thought that I killed his mother. He was so upset and I felt so bad. Kids!
