Thanks for the mention! I read Jason Debly's Three Wood review and it was even worse than I expected. While in Paris, the other bottle I brought back (via my wife) was the Auchentoshan 18 year (for $108 Cdn), so his review was particularly painful to read. I find that he truly detests the scotches that I love. I have discovered, over the years, that I am one of these: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Supertaster
Highland Park 12 is even a bit strong for me.

Regarding the LCBO's profits - don't you find it strange that a monopoly advertises with nice colourful magazines? As much as I love them, I'm curious as to why they feel the need to do this.

Chip Dykstra, over at The Rum Howler Blog, just posted a decent review of the Three Wood, so I guess it really is a matter of personal taste.

re: the LCBO...while I do find it strange that a monopoly has to advertise, I must say that I like the magazines, too...the recipes are usually quite good, but you do raise a good point!
