Brian's younger brother in Germany and his wife sent us this treasure trove of tasty holiday goodness. 
I'm not sure what all of this is, aside from sweets.
The one with the kittens on it intrigues me. It's not for pets, I'm certain .... so why the cute kittehs?

So far, the samples I've had are delicious.
Connie made sure there were some liquor-filled ones for me - she knows my tastes well.
I can't get over how 'creamy' the butter cookies are. I want to try some with hot chocolate and 'dip' them.

Gefüllte Lebkuchenherzen should be chocolate coated ginger bread. Yummy. We get alot of German Christmas goodies here courtesy of Aldi.

I haven't opened that one yet. It looks like you're right and the picture looks like they might have something like a caramel inside the cookie as well.
I'll be sure to let you know.

BTW.... there is an Aldi under construction about a mile from my home. I can get some of these goodies there???

yeah expect to see german christmas goodies at Aldi. They do a good sugar icing coated lebkuchen.

My Aldi is scheduled to open after the first of the year.
I can't wait to try it. I've heard the wine prices are very good!
