"Because of you, our parents are gone."
"That's terrible!" Fairchild snapped. "You need to convince Katie of how much this hurts."
"Mom, dad? You're still dead?" A series of gesticulations, Stranz's histrionic flair.
"Better." Fairchild nodded. "But she needs to feel your pain. Think of something sad and terrible, like our parents' death."
Stranz rubbed his chin, his brows coming together in deep concentration. "A broken leg."
"And your favorite pair of skates with rusted blades!" Fairchild said.
"NO!" Stranz shuddered.
"Beautiful." Fairchild smiled.
