I thought I could get by without having to do this, buuuuut...I was wrong. .__.;; Because the situation here is a little more complex than I originally assumed. Or I'm just made of more fail than I originally assumed. IN ANY CASE, ALL OF YOU
damned PEOPLE, PLS TO BE GIVING ME HELP.~
(Edit: The entire below has been edited for the purpose of (hopefully) making things less confusing, since I'd originally just edited in various explanations as people asked questions along the way and it all got terribly messy.)
Basically, I would like to know:
1) Whether or not Angel would be able to tell if your character is human and to what degree. As in whether he'd feel that something's just sliiiightly off or if it's pretty obvious. This is the most important part.
2) If your character is soulless, i.e. literally incapable of feeling guilt even if they wanted to (not just because they're a cold bastard and refuse to feel guilty). Sociopaths/psychopaths do not count-I'm talking on a very literal and supernatural level here, something perhaps like the your typical Buffy-verse vampire, or the Nobodies, for example. This part is much less important, so if you're unsure, don't worry too much about it.
***Please note that Angel will not be using this information to attack/hunt/kill anyone and he most likely (read: 99% of the time) will be keeping what he knows to himself. If he does tell someone, it won't be beyond a) those closest to him for the purpose of warning them to be careful around said patient; or b) a very select one or two only if he thinks it'll save someone's life/keep them out of danger. So if you guys are concerned about getting jumped by a random vampire, don't worry. |D;; This is more something he'll keep in the back of his mind, as a precaution or maybe even to try to figure out what types of people the institute is pulling into here.
There are a couple of reasons why I'm asking:
1) Based on his sense of smell, Angel can differentiate between who is human and who is not. The details are not explained in canon, but it would appear it has a lot to do with what "species" someone is. The best way I can think of to explain it is that it's the same way how humans can distinguish between, say, an apple and an orange based on smell. Angel just takes it to the next level.
Two important details follow this:
- If your character is a human who has obtained otherworldly powers, their scent will remain human to Angel. For example, Willow is a witch and can cast magic, but she is still considered human because she learned her magic. Someone like Wolverine, who developed mutant powers due to genetics, would smell "off" to Angel, but he may not be able to place it entirely. And someone like Aidou, who is a vampire, Angel would be able to smell it quite clearly.
- Characters transformed into a human body at Damned, a.k.a. ZEX or HK-47, are considered fully human so you guys can feel free to ignore this post. Ditto for obviously human characters I can tell by just peeking at their profile like...Tamaki and stuff. XD UNLESS M-U MODIFIED THEM INTO SOMETHING NON-HUMAN. <--b-but if you have the time and could just drop a quick note, that would help, too. ♥
2) If the characters rooming together are both human, Angel can't get inside their room without invite BUT DON'T WORRY because he isn't exactly the type to break into people's rooms on a whim to steal stuff or anything (lololol), so it's not going to make a difference either way. |D;; If he ever ends up in a room not his own, it'll probably be because he was running away from a big scary something. >:[
3) If he meets a character giving off non-human vibes, he might be more likely to broach supernatural topics, i.e. dimensional travel and various demons, than he would with a human. Even though he's aware everyone here has seen OMG MONSTERS and therefore don't need to be shielded anymore, but old habits die hard. 8| So this also determines what and how much he is willing to say to your character.
If you're iffy about him pegging your character as demon or something and would rather that not to happen at all, feel free to note that here and I can just blame "LOL LANDEL'S MESSED THINGS UP LIKE ALWAYS" and say that he can't tell either way in the case of your character in particular or I could even say that he's fooled into thinking they're fully human altogether if that would help more. It's not a problem what you'd prefer and I definitely don't want this to be interfering with anyone's plans or such. I just need to know what's what because it is something Angel tends to pay attention to and for the reasons I have listed above. But I would like to stress that he will not harm your character unless they are actively trying to hurt another patient at the time (in which case...it really wouldn't matter whether they're human or not XD), nor will he divulge their non-human qualities to anyone else unless he believes lives are at risk, since I know a few of you were concerned about that. Angel is a vampire himself and he has supernatural-related friends, so he will definitely want to avoid stirring people up into some sort of witch hunt against supernatural beings and he isn't going to jump to the automatic conclusion of supernatural/demon = evil/bad.
Anyway. Yes. XD If you guys could drop a line here about this, that'd be really awesome. I'm not sure how clear all of this was, so if it's confusing like whoa, let me know and I'll try to explain as best I can. ;__;
THANKS FOR YOUR TIME. ♥ ♥ ♥
