This is how it works. Basically, we just want to get an idea of who's actually around, keeping up with what's going on and... yeah, just still interested in the game and such! So I need you to comment saying that yes, you are still here. Linking to the most recent threads all of your characters are in will also be helpful.
I should say, though, that if you haven't been posting recently or have been falling behind, but you're still watching the comm (or the lounge, at least) and have no intention of falling into inactivity, then yes, comment as well! Let us know where you're at, what's going on, when you plan to get yourself posting again. Basically, if you're reading this now (and aren't planning on dropping, I guess?), then comment! Give us your status.
The post will be open for a week (reminders will be posted so that everyone has a fair chance of seeing the post) and after that, we'll be sending inactivity emails to anyone who didn't respond. So yeah, responding is important - please do it! ♥
Obviously, anyone who is currently on the hiatus list won't be counted, since... yeah, they're on hiatus. I'll also do my best to look through the hiatus tag on the lounge and find people there, since sometimes people don't comment to the actual list. But please, if you are currently on hiatus and seeing this, it would be much appreciated if you commented to the list about it. It's much easier for me to keep track of things when it's all in one place. You can only comment for someone else if a) they are without internet access or b) they are in some serious RL emergency that makes it unable for them to comment.
Warning: Although we want to be as understanding as possible, inactivity is a pretty serious issue for a RP that moves this quickly, and it's also hard for us to keep track of given how large the game is. Therefore, all the activity checks after this one are going to be a little more harsh. While they'll be every month or so, we won't give any warning prior to posting them. When we do post them, players will be required to comment with links to the latest threads from all of their characters, and if any of those threads date back to over two weeks before the inactivity post was made, then it counts as a strike against that character's activity. And, same as always, if someone doesn't comment to the post at all, it counts against all of their characters' activity. (Any threads made after the activity check post will not count for that particular activity check, to prevent people from running to post in order to avoid getting a strike against them.)
