Question for Players

Jun 24, 2010 13:02

It's one of those player question posts!

I'll be playing the Axis Powers Hetalia character, Japan, and Japan is canonically a huge otaku. His time period is up to the current day, May 2010, so any Japanese anime, manga, movie or video game would technically fall under his embarrassingly large otaku fandom base. HOWEVER, this potentially creates a great deal of fourth wall problems, doesn't it? So here's my question for you, the players:

Will Japan be able to recognize your character and canon?

If you and your canonmates would prefer Japan to not recognize them, I'm perfectly okay with that. For those he can recognize, he won't be doing much with his knowledge other than quietly fanboying that he's sitting next to Character A from Canon X and going "HOMG I WISH I HAD MY CAMERA" in his head.

This might involve talking things over with your canonmates, so feel free to do so in the comments.

Cheers all!♥

EDIT: Please make sure to tell me which characters you play and from what canon (and if you wish, include their journal names for quicker recognition). Also, don't worry too much about fourth-walling, guys. It's almost 99.9% certain that he won't say anything since he figures telling someone they're not real is impolite and would get him punched in the face.

And~ if you'd like, here's a handy form to use:
Player Name:
Characters: [Character Name, Canon](optional) Please discuss canon recognition permission with your canonmates so I have a single opinion on the canon as a whole.
Fourth-Wall Permission: Personal player permission for fourth-walling. Japan likely won't fourth-wall anyone except in the most extreme cases.
