Nothing to fear but Fear Ghoul herself?

OKAY GAIZ. It's time for another "tell me about your character" post! This time it's for people who will be coming into contact with Dr. Makiko Kisugi (so, patients/potential patients, fellow doctors, &c).

Dr. Kisugi has some happy fun special abilities and, uh, personality quirks, so I need to know two things from you:

1) How mentally "strong" ( Read more... )

Since Ritsuka might show up at her therapy sessions (he's the only one I can think of who would come in contact with the doctors), I'll let you know about him. |D WARNING, TL;DR AHEAD and possible spoilers for Loveless.

Aoyagi Ritsuka1) Ritsuka is determined, but he isn't that mentally strong in the most literal sense of the world. He can bear a lot and pushes through things that would daunt a lot of other people, but he also has a lot of doubts (thank you, Dr. Landel 8( ) and tends to waver on certain decisions ( ... )

Spoilers for Tenchi Muyo... no, seriously! jade_pen January 9 2009, 23:14:13 UTC
I imagine that Dr. Washu is probably one of the strongest minds that Dr. Kisugi has ever encountered. She has an incredible strength of will, and being a goddess, she has never seemed to experience any of the 'vulnerable' sides of life. The few times she has gotten like that, it's implied that she was just acting; so yeah, quite mentally resilient and vibrant.

While she doesn't really 'fear' anything, though, she does have a few weaknesses. The first is self-apparent; she's proud of herself and has complete confidence in herself and her position as a genius. She also has a bit of a motherly soft spot, due to having a child taken away from her during her younger (much younger!) years. These aren't really things that can be used to mess with her, though; even when the child issue was brought up, she bounced back literally a few seconds later. Just feel like I should bring that up so you're not surprised, mm?

Okay. Now that the doctor assignments are out, I'll actually go through the whole complicated spiel about:

Tokito

1) Mental Strength: Tokito is a bit of a contradiction here. In many ways, he's extremely strong, mentally. He's absolutely determined to find out about his past, despite knowing that it's sure to be something horrible. He knows he is likely going to die, and soon, because no one else has survived the use of W.A. at all, but instead of choosing to run from these things he has chosen to pursue the truth no matter what. He's also very protective of other people, and will put himself in danger to help them. He has, in the canon (though not at the point I took him from--I'm using this as an example) withstood beatings and medium-mild torture without betraying anything or anyone. However, this strength has a very shaky foundation. Which brings me to the second question.

2) Fears/Weaknesses: Ahahaha. Tokito is a mess. He has no memory of his life before he was found by Kubota, and even trying to remember gives him cold ( ... )

Did a quick web page with pics of Tokito's flashbacks, for easy reference. Those four images are literally all we have to go on for what his years of captivity were like. ^^;

1) Ken is arguably tenacious when it comes mental "strength", but it's a result of survival. He is strong because he can withstand things thrown at him, e.g., recovering from Shinjiro's death in the span of a day.

I guess it's really a matter of maintaining a good deal of stamina as opposed to actual strength (if that makes sense).

2) He fears being "left behind", being alone. Not necessarily in the literal sense; he didn't like the idea that everyone was moving on after his mom's death, for instance.

His weak points tend to hover around this fear and life events closely tied to it, such as his mom, Shinjiro, his recent M-U, etc.

1) Wesker is very mentally strong, he has strong self discipline and self control (it's even theorized at one point in the games that his personality and will power are what made him one the only person to inject himself that didn't go crazy and mutate into something awful ( ... )
