I don't think Sei-chan is OOC at all. The Sakurazukamori is all about control, after all--not only control of the self, but of everything around them, even of their deaths, in a way. To suddenly have the situation be so much out of his control would be quite disorienting for Seishirou. He'd adapt quickly, yes, and find fun in it as you say at the end, but it sure wouldn't do anything for his already-dubious stability. ^^
