Will SOMEONE please explain to my lead-brained, rust-ridden, overclocked low priority glitch of an excuse for a wingmate that HUMANS NEED TO EAT?!

I am NOT towing you if you go into stasis-lock again, understand? Doing it in zero-g was bad enough, but this is just STUPID.

Actually if you don't eat for long enough you won't need to any more. Most humans are too weak to attain this state willingly, though.

Trying to protect a fool from himself is a waste of time, you know.

The problem with that is that I lack the means of bringing him out of stasis lock afterwards. Despite his stupidity, he's a valuable ally, if only because he's very useful to stand behind when things attack us. I'd prefer he'd not go into stasis lock at all.

And I'm seriously considering that plan. The hard part would be finding a time and place to do it where the nurses wouldn't see.

I'm not human; or at least, I wasn't before coming here.

Stasis lock is similar to death, I suppose; all processes completely shut down, to conserve fuel. However, an individual can be brought out of stasis lock through refueling and repairing whatever damage put them in that state. Permanent deactivation is a different matter.

I confess to still being somewhat ignorant of human functions, despite living on your planet for two years before coming here.

Wingmate? He'll figure it out when he starts feeling sick. Shouldn't take more than a day or two before the hunger pangs get to him.

Yes, wingmate. And this is the second day he's refused to eat; shouldn't he be feeling these "hunger pangs" by now?

Fairly soon yes. Since it's only morning, he probably won't get them until lunch or dinner. I suggest saving some of your food or getting him to the kitchen tonight and feeding him there if he still refuses.

That said, if he's really adverse to eating, let him know that small amounts three times a day will at least keep him alive. It won't let him work at his best performance, but he won't die.

An interesting strategy. I apologize for removing your note; should I choose to follow your advice, I would prefer to have the element of surprise.

From what I read, logic won't work on this one--I know his type. You can't get someone to do something if they're too terrified to do it.
