Whatever semblance of zen Masaomi managed to recover during the quiet dinner (he liked the teriyaki better than yesterday's herb chicken) was a moot point by the time the head honcho's voice fizzled out and the intercom clicked shut. He didn't need to check to know that the doors were unlocked.
Well, at least tonight's bizarre radio show was just a tiny bit more straightforward than the one before. None of the nursery rhymes, just the sort of creepy cliché warnings every horror movie protagonist suffered - and ignored! - to their detriment. Usually to their detriment. The Dude Too Cool To Get Blindsided By This Vicious Cycle, the one and only Kiiiida Masaomi, hadn't made a study of the genre - but the longer he found himself staring at the door, the more he thought he got the picture. Buzz's conversation with Doctor had been just as confusing as it'd been helpful. Doors unlocking at night? Monsters roaming the hall? It all sounded sort of like the things that Sora had mentioned, and although Buzz didn't want to think that either of them were lying, it did sound a little hard to believe. Maybe it was sort of like the situation in Sid's room, where all of the so-called "monsters" had ended up being well-meaning toys in the end? Buzz sure hoped so, but he got a sinking feeling as the lights went out that this whole situation might end up being more like Sunnyside. Everyone here seemed so nice during the day, but at night... who knew? Maybe the nurses sat around and gambled hard-earned Monopoly currency just like Ken and the others - after all, the people here had sure done a number on his body the same way that Lotso's cronies had, and that last intercom announcement had sent literal chills down his spine.
