The announcement over the intercom, followed with the click of the doors being unlocked, was enough to make Xemnas jerk out of his musings. Laying down his pen, he glanced for yet another time at the notes he'd just written with a deep frown ( Read more... )

VII was punctual as could be expected. He wasted little time pondering the announcements for the evening, though the doctor's mad rants were filed away in case of future relevance. He had another, decidedly more important matter to deal with for the time being.

Saïx was comfortable in the darkness, but this type seemed almost to defy him. It was troublesome to rely on a small light to reveal the proper path, but it didn't take much to grow accustomed to the flashlight. It took scarcely a moment or so to find his way to Xemnas' room. When he approached, the Nobody took the time to kneel before the Superior, custom adopted now that they weren't under the supervision of so many others. Perhaps it was not needed given their predicament, but it was offered regardless.

"I hope I didn't keep you waiting, Superior."

The door opened at last, revealing none other but his most loyal subject. VII was punctual, but Xemnas didn't expect anything else from the Luna Diviner. He watched as the Nobody approached him and kneeled, showing the utmost respect which was solely directed to none other but the Superior.

"Number VII. Quite on time, as usual." he spoke softly, giving VII a firm nod, signaling him to stand up. Offering a slight smile, he let his amber eyes linger on Saïx for a moment.

"Shall we proceed?"

Saïx stood up and nodded in turn, assuming that he was to lead if only to assume a role of bodyguard. Perhaps the idea that Xemnas would need one was absurd, but this place had weakened them considerably. He would be damned to more than a false life without a heart if their Superior, their leader and the reason for everything, would be struck down in such a state.

"I will lead the way to the stairs, unless there's a particular place you wished to visit," he said, speaking as he moved back into the hallway.
