Still quiet. 622 really didn't trust this, but if they could get to where they were going, at least he might be able to find out more about what this place expected him to be, even if there wasn't anything useful. Maybe he could still make something out of it.
Still, he had a bad feeling about this.

Almost there. "Statement: There is only one more hallway to go," He said aloud, mostly just to keep himself from getting monumentally bored.

With Matt's light on, Mello could switch his off again, if only to preserve his silent insistence that he could navigate perfectly well without it, and he did so as they passed the second overlook onto the Sun Room. It sounded quiet in there for now, seemingly backing up Sho's intel that the monsters rotated.
He had no idea what Matt had been up to since leaving Wammy's House, but, he thought with an inward chuckle, he probably didn't know that where Matt had come from, either. Mello had never indulged in that brand of small talk. He imagined their first conversation after five years had consisted of less than twenty words. And he couldn't possibly ask Matt why he'd been willing to drop everything--if their timelines matched up, Mello had been days from calling on him, and Matt had flown in from wherever he was immediately--and join forces with him. That would be like drawing a fucking arrow to everything Mello didn't want to discuss. Why would you follow me? was a question he would never allow himself to ask, and how am ( ... )

Okay, he thought after a second or two. Either Mello's on some serious hallucinogens, or this place's managed to drive him as batshit as they probably claim he already is. Though it wouldn't be too hard to convince anyone of Mello's insanity, really. Either way, it was time for a bit of a reality check.
A little on the tentative side, Matt replied, "Mello? L's dead." Please don't aim for the face when you hit me.

He knew Matt could work out for himself that if the two of them had come from different times, so could L. ...Who might not have been the best choice for a distracting topic, who would know right away that something had happened to Mello, next time they spoke. He could fake it well enough to fool people who didn't know him, maybe even well enough to fool Matt, but not enough to fool L. "He came from 2004."

With yet another hall that was practically empty, Sora started to get the feeling that they could actually make it to the file room without getting attacked. There was still the chance that a monster would come out of nowhere, but he was pretty sure they had already avoided the really tough stuff, like brainwashed patients.
Moving them along, he used his flashlight to search out where they'd need to turn the corner while keeping half of his attention on Neku. "So... were you interested in joining Arts and Crafts?" he asked with a smile. "We always need new members!" If the other boy just wanted this to be a one time thing, that was also fine, but Sora figured he might as well try to recruit now that he had the chance.

But no. Things were quiet. Oddly so. And when Sora asked him about Arts and Crafts, with all of his usual enthusiasm, it was hard to say no. Sora was, admittedly, pretty reliable. But he knew nothing about the group.
"Depends on what you guys do," he said honestly. Kairi hadn't seemed very impressed with their progress too, but it didn't seem like the kind of thing he ought to bring up in front of one of her friends. "I'll think about it though."

"Obviously we're working on finding a way out, but we also try to follow radio clues, we search for stuff to make weapons, and we're also trying to get down into the basement and stuff. We're open to working with other clubs and exchanging information, too." That was one of the things that appealed to Sora the most, since in the end, this wasn't a competition between the patients. The key to getting out of here was working together, and having the clubs pool information was probably the best way of doing that.
Of course, there was one piece of bad news that he had to share, but Sora left that until they'd rounded the corner.

Once they reached the next section of the hallway Yue relaxed just slightly from the tense posture he hadn't even realized he'd assumed. Nowhere was completely safe from the creatures that lurked in the darkness in this place, but he didn't know of anything especially dangerous here. Not, he mused somewhat moodily, that he'd known of anything particularly dangerous in the basement, either, but... never mind that.
He cast a sidelong glance toward Touya and frowned. "You should watch where we're going," he said in such a neutral tone that it could almost border on an insult, should one wish to take it that way. What was he thinking about so hard, anyway? Probably not monsters.

Sakura sped up a bit to grab one of Touya's arms as they turned into the next hallway. It wouldn't be much farther, would it?
