Night 49: Second Floor Refrigerator

Now he knew this was impossible. What they walked into - with the same disorienting feeling - was not the hallway outside of the patient blocks, or the recreational field, or even another hallway.

It was a refrigerator. Barely big enough for the two of them.

If Edward hadn't seen the puff of breath coming out of Venom's mouth, he probably wouldn't have realized how cold it was supposed to be. He was already cold himself, so lower temperatures did not affect him. He could, however, smell the somewhat stale scents of cold, human foods. There was an assortment of sliced deli meats - chicken, turkey - as well as brown sacks of food and bottled juices. Was this connected to the cafeteria, perhaps?

But. How the hell did we get here? This room was like the room before: only one door, acting as entrance and exit. There was no possible way to move from a hallway into a sealed room, then from that sealed room into another. This was -

He reached out a hand to grab a bottle of water, the plastic creaking under his fingertips. It was solid. Real.

I'm losing my mind.
